Digital Product Policy

This policy relates to our digital product, specifically our digital cookbook, and clarifies how it is sold and what terms apply. Mish Mash Publications offers a cookbook titled (for example) “Mish Mash Munchies: Coffee-Inspired Recipes” in digital format. Please note: our digital cookbook is not sold through our Wix website. It is exclusively available on Amazon’s platform (e.g., as a Kindle eBook on Amazon.co.uk). Therefore, when you purchase our digital product, you are engaging in a transaction with Amazon, and different terms and conditions apply as explained below.

Sales Through Amazon: The digital cookbook can be purchased by following a link from our site to the Amazon listing or by searching for it directly on Amazon’s Kindle Store. Any purchase of that eBook is made via your Amazon account, using Amazon’s checkout process. We (Mish Mash Publications) are the content creators/publishers of the book, but Amazon is the retailer handling the sale and delivery of the eBook. This means that Amazon’s Terms of Service, conditions of use, and purchase policies will govern the transaction. For example, Amazon’s pricing, tax, and billing policies will apply. You will be charged by Amazon, not by us, and the charge will appear on your payment method as an Amazon transaction. We do not collect your payment information or personal details for these digital sales; all of that is handled by Amazon. We may receive reports from Amazon about sales figures and royalties, but those reports generally do not include identifiable customer data.

Digital Delivery: When you buy the eBook on Amazon, delivery is fulfilled by Amazon. Typically, for a Kindle eBook, it will be delivered electronically to your Amazon Kindle device or app library immediately after purchase (or you can download it from your Amazon account). If you encounter any issues accessing or downloading the digital book, you should consult Amazon’s customer support, as they manage the technical delivery. Ensure that the device or app you’re using is compatible with the eBook format (Amazon will usually indicate compatibility). Since Amazon handles the hosting of the file, uptime and availability are subject to Amazon’s service. (The benefit is Amazon’s infrastructure is very reliable.)

Returns and Refunds for Digital Product: Because the digital cookbook is sold by Amazon, Amazon’s return policy for digital content applies. Under UK consumer law, there is normally no automatic right to cancel a digital download purchase once the download has started (since you can’t “return” digital content in the same way as physical goods)

However, Amazon’s own policy is somewhat customer-friendly: Amazon allows customers to “return” a Kindle eBook within 14 days of purchase if it was accidental or if there’s an issue

In practice, on Amazon.co.uk, you can usually request a refund for an eBook within 14 days of purchase, provided you haven’t read a substantial portion of the book. (For example, Amazon may restrict refunds if a significant percentage of the book has been read, to prevent abuse.) Their policy states that if the eBook has been partially read or if they suspect abuse of the return policy, they may deny the refund.

To initiate a return/refund for the eBook, you would do so through your Amazon account -> Content and Devices -> Purchase History, or by contacting Amazon customer service. We want to be transparent that we cannot process refunds for the digital book on our end; since we do not control the payment, we cannot issue any refund or credit for a purchase made on Amazon. All refund requests must go through Amazon’s system. Amazon’s returns policies are readily available on their help pages (see “Return a Kindle Book Order” on Amazon’s help site for details). In summary, you generally have up to 14 days to cancel an accidental eBook purchase on Amazon. However, after that period (or if the book has been heavily read), Amazon may refuse the return. If you believe you were wrongly charged or there’s an extenuating circumstance, you can appeal to Amazon’s support.

Amazon Account and Policies: To buy the digital cookbook, you will need an active Amazon account and to abide by Amazon’s terms (such as the Amazon Conditions of Use and any Kindle Store terms of service). Amazon may impose certain restrictions; for example, the eBook might be limited to use on your personal devices and protected by digital rights management (DRM). The license you obtain by purchasing the eBook is typically for your personal, non-commercial use; Amazon usually doesn’t allow re-distribution of Kindle books. Also, any personal data you provide during the purchase (like your Amazon profile information, payment info, etc.) is collected by Amazon under their Privacy Notice. We do not receive your personal details from Amazon aside from possibly anonymised or aggregated data about sales. If you have privacy concerns about information collected during an Amazon purchase, please review Amazon’s Privacy Notice on their website.

Support and Contact for Digital Products: If you have issues with the purchase process or technical delivery of the eBook (such as difficulty downloading, payment issues, not receiving the book in your Kindle library, etc.), please contact Amazon Customer Service, as they are best equipped to assist with transactions on their platform. Amazon has 24/7 customer support via chat, phone, or email through their site. However, if you have any questions about the content of the cookbook itself or want to give feedback or require support related to the book’s material, you are welcome to reach out to us at Mish Mash Publications. For instance, if there is an error in the recipe or you want to share a review or need clarification on something in the cookbook, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us via email (info@mishmashpublications.com), and we will respond as the publisher/author. Just note that we cannot fulfil requests like resending the eBook or providing a different format—those are under Amazon’s control. But we do stand by our product’s quality, so if you find a genuine error or issue in the content, we may issue updates or errata in future versions.

No Liability for Amazon Services: By purchasing the digital cookbook on Amazon, you acknowledge that the transaction is between you and Amazon. While we have made our best effort to provide a quality product (the eBook content), we do not have control over Amazon’s platform, and thus we cannot be responsible for any failures or breaches on Amazon’s side. For example, if Amazon’s site is down or if Amazon erroneously overcharges you, those issues must be resolved with Amazon. We also are not responsible for Amazon’s delivery of the digital content or any device compatibility issues. That said, we certainly want you to have a good experience, so we will cooperate with you and Amazon if any serious issue arises that we can help with.

Updates to the Digital Content: If we release updates or new editions of the digital cookbook on Amazon (for instance, correcting typos or adding new recipes), Amazon’s platform may or may not push those updates to customers who already purchased. In some cases, Amazon allows updates to be delivered for free to past purchasers. We recommend keeping your Kindle app/device settings updated to receive any content updates. We will communicate on our site or social media if a significant new edition is released. New editions might be considered a separate purchase if substantial (we would clarify that at the time).
Separate from Physical Products: Purchases of the digital cookbook on Amazon are entirely separate from any purchases on our Wix site. Buying the eBook on Amazon will not count toward any promotions or loyalty programs on our website, and vice versa. For example, if we have a discount code or loyalty points on our website, those cannot be applied to Amazon purchases. Similarly, if Amazon runs a special deal on the eBook, that’s independent of our website’s pricing. Keep this in mind when shopping—different platforms have separate promotions and policies.

Conclusion: In short, for our digital cookbook available on Amazon, Amazon is the seller and handles all sales, payments, and returns under their standard policies. We want to ensure our customers understand this separation so there are no surprises. We encourage you to review Amazon’s terms of sale and return policy when purchasing our digital product. If you’re unsure or have any questions about how to get the cookbook, feel free to contact us, and we’ll guide you on how to purchase it through Amazon. Thank you for your interest in our cookbook; we hope you enjoy the recipes and content we’ve created!
If you have any further questions about our digital product that weren’t answered here, you can reach out to us at mishmashpublications@icloud.com, and we’ll do our best to assist (for content-related queries) or direct you to the right resource (for Amazon-related queries). Happy reading and cooking!
